About Our Team
You Are Not Alone in This
We did not build this service to sit behind heavy office desks, wear clinical coats, or hand you stacks of boring paperwork. We built this on a foundation of hope, because we know that trying to start over or step back out into the community alone can feel like standing on the edge of a massive, scary cliff—and we firmly believe that real personal transformation is always possible.
Traditional offices can feel stiff, cold, and uncomfortable. We do things differently with a deep sense of empathy, choosing to meet you exactly where you are instead of expecting you to come to us. We are a team of real people who have walked difficult paths ourselves, and because provincial agencies, families, and community partners are reaching out to us right now, we are actively growing bigger and bigger every single day to meet the demand. We bring down-to-earth support, everyday life-skill coaching, and trained therapy dogs right to your neck of the woods in our mobile unit, anywhere across PEI. We specialize in low-barrier, rapid-response outreach so that men can access critical support right when they need it most. We promise to bring you dedicated, focused support, because we believe nobody should navigate this road alone.
The Heart and Experience Behind Our Mobile Care
Our founder leads the team with a deep mix of professional knowledge and real, personal understanding of what it takes to heal. She has dedicated 25 years to mental health, addictions, and correctional rehabilitation, specializing directly in supporting men through tough life transitions across Canada. She has worked within and managed many mental health and addiction programs within the community—working closely with youth, families, individuals, and assisting community safety teams to build stable, lasting support networks.
But a long career does not mean anything without authenticity—honoring real, unfiltered stories and true life experiences. Having navigated 15 years of her own personal journey through complex trauma, she knows exactly how hard it is to rebuild a life when the system feels overwhelming. She created this mobile approach rooted in absolute respect, firmly believing that every single individual deserves their full dignity and autonomy. She provides a safe, reliable, and non-judgmental helping hand that Island men and referring case managers can completely depend on.
Our Safe, Loving Animal Partners
When stress and anxiety are running high, sitting in a quiet room and being forced to talk about your deepest feelings can make you want to walk away. Our four-year-old valley bulldog changes the whole feel of a session without making a sound. She acts as a gentle circuit-breaker for stress, naturally helping the nervous system calm down so that real, meaningful connection can happen, because true healing always takes place within safe relationships. She does not care about past mistakes or clinical labels. She is a wonderful friend who loves helping people find peace, and she is always incredibly excited to hop out of the SUV to meet you.
Right now, she is also working hard on training a new animal friend to join the team. This new friend had a very difficult start to life, which has made her extremely compassionate to the struggles of others. We are all living this journey to healing together through true connection—humans and animals alike.
True Peer Support from Individuals Who Have Been There
You cannot fake true understanding. Our lead peer mentor is a well-known, rock-solid face in the local Island recovery community. He brings a decade of his own personal recovery journey along with eight years of working professionally inside mental health and addiction environments. As a dad, a son, a partner, and a brother, he knows exactly how much heavy lifting it takes to establish a safe, steady routine and maintain housing or legal stability on the outside. He leads our 12-week peer support circles across all three PEI counties, sharing his real, honest story to help light the way for others. He has walked in the exact shoes our clients are wearing, and he constantly upgrades his training right here on the Island to ensure his deep empathy is always backed by excellent safety and coaching standards.
Our other peer mentors bring 32 years of combined lived experience to the team. They continue to grow and heal every day while positively contributing to the lives of other men. Their enthusiasm is refreshing. Having successfully graduated through their own journeys of healing and community stability alongside our founder, consultants, and lead mentor, these men are living proof of how effective this structured peer model is. Today, they operate as disciplined, accountable workers who continually strive to gain more professional training and education, ensuring they deliver the highest standard of peer assistance to men re-entering community life.
Guided by Professional Experts
To ensure our daily mobile visits maintain strict safety protocols and remain highly effective for community reintegration, our entire team operates under a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based framework. We do not fly blind. We are constantly guided and supported by two specialized Island consultants who review our programming, maintain our operational boundaries, and keep our framework aligned with best evidence-based practices.
